Edens & Avant, who is the owner and developer of the property behind the Vantage, has informed Uniwest that next week they will begin construction of Phase I of the Merrifield Town Center project. What this means is that the surface parking that is currently in use behind 8190 Strawberry Lane will no longer be available. In addition, Strawberry Lane will be blocked off and all traffic will have to turn right onto Yates Lane, the road immediately behind the building to access Lee Highway. Customers, please park in the parking garage because you will no longer be able to use the surface parking lot.
The initial phase of this project will include a two level structure with a Target store on the second level and other retail shops on the ground level. Included in this phase will be a multi-level parking deck as well as an eight screen boutique movie theatre. The time frame for construction of this phase of the project from start to finish is estimated to be 18 months.
